Monthly Favourites | April.

Life

This month has been one of my favourites so far! I've been a real social butterfly, which hasn't been any good for Slimming World but we'll get to that..

I was lucky enough to go and watch Jesus Christ Superstar in Manchester at the Palace Theatre this month and it was incredible!! I've never seen it before, in musical or the film so I wasn't 100% sure what to expect so I went in with an open mind and little expectation.
It was amazing! The music was incredible, the singers were so good.
For those of you who don't know, J.C.S is a 1970's rock musical with music written by Andrew Lloyd Webber (so it was bound to be amazing!!) The musical is loosely based on the Gospel's accounts of Jesus's last seven days.
I have to admit I wasn't a HUGE fan of the man who they cast to play Jesus, he was older than I expected and didn't look like..Jesus. He was a great singer, but I didn't have any emotional connection with the character as to me, in my opinion, he wasn't Jesus. However, the actor who portrayed Judas was incredible! I got so caught up in his performance and the betrayal.
I would definitely recommend the show and watch it again!

I'm currently in a little bit of a rut when it's coming to Slimming World. As I said, i've been out quite a lot this month whether that is out with the girls, family or Aaron and I have gone in with the mind set to stick to the plan and be really good. However...when it's come to ordering food that logic all goes out the window and before I know it i've ordered the biggest burger on the menu.. it was worth every bite but shhhhh.
To get myself back on the plan i've bought a new cookbook and read through all my magazines and ripped out all my favourite recipes. I've also wrote a meal plan to get myself organised. I will do this!!!
Keep your eyes peeled for lots of new recipes and recommendations.

Eats

Food glorious food..what haven't I eaten?!
Aaron took me out for a date night, which we try and do at least once a month, which usually consists of food and cocktails. This time we decided to go to TGI Friday's, which is one of my favourite chain restaurants! The food, cocktails and service is always great. I've never been and had a bad experience, touch wood! TGI has a special place in our hearts as it is where we celebrated our first anniversary almost six years ago! I wasn't old enough to drink then so I stuck to the diet coke..I make up for it now though..

Before I went to watch J.C.S myself, my Mum and Dad went for a meal on Oxford Street, which is where the Theatre is located. We opted to eat there as the Metro link currently stops at Victoria as they are doing work all through the city, so we got the free bus shuttle to St Peters Square which is just around the corner from the Theatre. We didn't want to be last minute arriving so decided to eat close by!
It was a Saturday night so everywhere was HEAVING, I can't believe how busy it was! We decided to go to Rump & Ribs Steak House which me and my Mum have visited before and it is delicious! The food was amazing and the service is great. The only thing that would probably put some people off is the fact that they don't serve alcohol. This really didn't bother us but I know some people enjoy a drink with their meal.
My Mum and I opted for the Grilled Lamb Chops, which came with roasted green beans and mint gravy and a side portion of mash..and holy hell...it was DELICIOUS. My Dad had the Buffalo Ribs which looked and smelled so good. It got his seal of approval!

Books/Watch/Music

I've fallen back in love with reading this year, especially with physical books rather than ebooks. I've bought so many books this month and will be doing a haul at some point!
One book I read this month that stuck out to me the most was Eleanor and Park by Rainbow Rowell. I'd seen this book raved about so much over blogs and Instagram so I couldn't wait to give it a read and see what all the fuss was about.
It was amazing! I gave it 5* on GoodReads and wrote a full review here. It's a Young Adult novel based in 1986, about two misfits who meet on the school bus on Eleanor's first day of school and through their mutual love for comic books and mix tapes of 80's rock music, they fall in love. I won't put any spoilers but you'll cry. I did..like a bitch.

I've been watching SO many things this month, I think Netflix is honestly the best investment i've ever made! I've been watching Grey's Anatomy back to back, even Aaron is obsessed we are currently on Season 4, so we still have a fair way to go but it is amazing! There's so much drama and I love it!
Also One Upon A Time is just..eugh..my perfect series. Anything Disney is just..perfect. I can't recommend this series enough. especially if you're a Disney obsessive like me!

Music wise I have been LOVING Meghan Trainor's song Dear Future Husband! I know it's called loads of controversy about the whole 'being sexist' thing but it's just a good fun song. It makes washing the dishes much more fun...HA..HA..HA. See what I did there?

What have you guys been loving this month? Let me know!
